At our school, we are proud to support our Young Carers and recognise the important role they play within their families. We work closely with Centre 33 to provide external support, while internally we offer fortnightly Young Carers sessions where children can come together to chat, share experiences, take part in activities, and relax in a supportive environment. Led by Miss Coles and Mrs Flisher, with support from Mr Bostock, these sessions help ensure our Young Carers feel valued, understood, and supported. We are also committed to raising awareness across the school community and celebrating the dedication, resilience, and compassion shown by our Young Carers every day. Please follow the link below to flag any child that you may deem to be a Young Carer. A Young Carer is a child young person who helps to look after a family member who may have an illness, disability, mental health difficulty, or who may need extra support for another reason. This care can include practical tasks, emotional support, or helping siblings, and it may take place before or after the school day. We recognise that these responsibilities can sometimes impact a child’s wellbeing, learning, and emotional needs. All conversations and responses will be treated sensitively and in confidence.
